Addiction is a chronic condition characterised by compulsive substance use or behaviours despite harmful consequences. It changes the brain's reward system, making it extremely difficult to stop without support.
In Pakistan, addiction particularly to substances like ice, heroin, and prescription drugs is a growing crisis, but treatment options remain limited and stigma is high.

Addiction isn't a moral failure or a lack of willpower. It's a medical condition with neurological underpinnings. Shaming someone into stopping doesn't work; evidence-based treatment does.

Treatment typically involves a combination of medical support, counselling, and sometimes medication-assisted treatment. We address the underlying issues that drive the addiction, not just the substance use itself.
