Autism Spectrum

Autism isn't a disease to be cured it's a different way of processing the world. Children with autism may experience social communication differently and have intense, focused interests that shape how they learn and connect.

What it is

Autism is a neurological difference that affects how a person communicates, processes sensory information, and experiences social interaction. It's a spectrum, meaning every autistic person has a unique profile of strengths and challenges.

In Pakistan, autism is often misunderstood. Some parents blame themselves, while others are told their child will "grow out of it." Neither is true.

What it looks like in real life

"He can tell you every fact about trains but struggles to have a conversation with a classmate."
"She covers her ears when the vacuum is on but doesn't react to her name."
"He lines up his toys in a perfect row and gets very upset if anyone moves them."
Woh doosron se alag rehta hai, lekin apne interest mein bahut smart hai.

Some children are diagnosed early, while others especially girls and those who learn to "mask" their differences may not be identified until later. Early support can make a meaningful difference.

What it is not

Autism isn't caused by vaccines, bad parenting, or too much screen time. It's a neurodevelopmental condition that people are born with. While there's no "cure," early intervention and support can help autistic children thrive.

What treatment involves

Support typically includes speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and social skills training. We focus on building on the child's strengths while addressing specific challenges.

Parent training is also essential helping families understand their child's needs and create supportive environments at home and school.

When to seek help now

If you've noticed your child isn't meeting social or language milestones, if they have intense reactions to sensory input, or if their behaviour seems significantly different from peers early assessment can open doors to support that makes a real difference.

The hardest step is the first one. Most of our patients tell us afterwards that they waited too long. You do not need a referral, a diagnosis, or the right words. You only need to call.
